GRADUATION SPEECH
Being responsible means to make decisions that serve our own interests and the interests of others. We first need to be responsible for ourselves before we can be responsible for others. In learning to be more responsible it is important that we know our limitations. It does not matter how smart we are, there is only so much responsibility that a person can handle. It is also important to remember that we are not responsible for things that are out of our control, for example, how other people feel or how they react to ourselves or others. Sharing responsibility for both success and failure can lead to increased responsibility to oneself and others.
When you hear the word responsibility, what do you think of first? Many people think of the word BLAME, as in, Whose responsibility is this? I think of responsibility as taking whats in front of you, and taking control. The real meaning of responsibility is the ability to respond. Its going out and creating what you want through personal choices.
pradinya
you hit some really important points in your speech. however, every line in the first paragraph was its own topic. it might help if you take each topic and write about it in its own paragraph, using anecdotes and common misconceptions that a teen faces on an average basis. it wont only strengthen your speech, but it will also add a little more lengthiness to it.
in the last paragraph, in the second line, when you talk about blame, you might want to change the wording, your verb tenses dont really match. also, your own meaning of responsibility can also be its own paragraph or even a conclusion if you word it properly.
But most of all, your speech was to the point, and didnt beat around the bush, which is important in speeches and writing in general.
